The First Hour of your Day!

How do you utilize the first hour of your day?

The first hour of your day can be the most powerful time in your whole day. It all depends on how you spend it. Time is the greatest asset we have and yet many of us don’t use it wisely.

For the night owls amongst us, the first hour of the day is usually dreaded because you feel groggy after a late night, you are desperate for a coffee and some light breakfast, if at all and it might take you until 10am before you start to feel awake.

For the early risers amongst us, the first hour of our day is a time when you get to have some time to yourself and get yourself ready and prepared for a brand new day. You feel awake, maybe you’ve had a light breakfast and you are ready to rock and roll.

Whether you are night owl or an early riser, you can change your whole life depending upon what you do with the first hour of your day. What you do in the first hour of the day sets the tone for the entire day.

What if you spend the first hour of the day reading your bible and praying? What an incredible difference would that make to your emotional state and mental focus. What if you spend the first hour of the day doing some exercise, running, walking, cycling, swimming, working out and stretching? What if you spent the first hour of your day being still and thinking through and planning how to get the most out of your day? What if you spent the first hour of your day writing a few more pages of that book you always wanted to write? Here’s one, What if you spent the first hour of your day reading my blog and thinking about how to put it into action in your life…? I know, this one was a long shot…!

I want to challenge and encourage you to reconsider what you are doing with the first hour of your day. If you would become far more intentional about the first hour of your day, it will have a dramatic effect on your life, your work and your relationships.
