Whose HOUSE are you building?

2099063930_df0aa6d3d0Psalm 127:1-2 “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.”

Whose house are you building? Are you building your house or are you building God’s house? One of the scariest places to be is building something you think God is in but later discover he isn’t in it. I’ve discovered God will let you build your dream but if he isn’t the author of it, you won’t have his blessing upon your life. I believe that one expression of God’s wrath upon us is for Him to leave us alone in our building efforts. It’s a scary place to be.

Jesus didn’t say, “I will build your ministry.” He said, “I will build my Church.” God only builds his Church, not everyone’s individual ministries, businesses or organisations. One of my constant prayers is to ask God to include me in his church building efforts because i don’t want to be on the outer but in the inner circle of what God is doing on the earth.

Our labour is in vain when we build with anxiety. Our labour is in vain when we build at the expense of the health of our body, mind and spirit. Our labour is in vain when we are not working under the instructions of the Spirit. Our job is to build what God is building and if we do, our labour will not be in vain
