It doesn’t matter how you START but how you FINISH!

3108146172_643dac06742 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

3.5 years ago Simone and I started Activate Church with 11 others and God has graciously grown our church and sustained us through the early challenges of pioneering a new church. We have learned a lot from both the mistakes we have made and the victories God has added to us.

The last 3.5 years have been a really good start but to be honest I feel like we are just warming up. It doesn’t matter how you start, what matters is how you finish. Many people in life start well but finish poorly. Like rockets blasting off from the earth, some of us show every bit of promise and power early on but unfortunately finish poorly in what we are called to do. Don’t let this happen to you. Refuse to become another statistic!

The Apostle Paul started life as a murderer but he ended his life as a deliverer and an apostle to the nations. He fought the fight God called him to and he finished his race. It doesn’t matter what mistakes you may have made in the past, you can start again today. It doesn’t matter what success you had at the start, what matters is that you are growing and getting better each day.

2010 for me and Activate Church will be the best year of growth and ministry we’ve ever had. Why? Because we’re closer to Jesus, we’re more the wiser, we’ve learnt what to do and what not to do and what God has started in us, he will bring through to completion. It doesn’t matter how you start, what matters is how you finish.

Lead the Change!
