Why didn’t God answer my prayers?

Many of us leave our prayer lives behind at an experience somewhere in the past where we felt let down because we didn’t get the answer we were looking for. Why doesn’t God seem to answer our prayers when and how we want him to? Here are some of the core reasons:

A relationship conflict– Mark 11:25 says, “Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

Wrong motivation for praying – James 4:3 says, “You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, to spend it on your passions.”

Lack of faith – James 1:6-7 says, “Ask in faith, with no doubting, for the o0ne who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.”

Not aligned with God’s will – 1 John 5:14 says, “This is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.”

The way you live matters – James 5:16 says, “The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”

What matters most in PRAYER! The answer is an honest relationship with Jesus Christ. John 9:31 says, “We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshipper of God and does his will, God listens to him.”

God does want to answer our prayers but we need to align our prayers by his Word. 1 John 5:15 says, If we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.”
