Making Godly Choices

Everyday we are faced with decisions to make. Some of these decisions are easier than others but it’s helpful to know what grid to use to make Godly choices through. Right now in my leadership i am faced with several decisions to make that require wisdom, faith and practical common sense. What grid do i work through to make the choice the Holy Spirit wants me to?

There are several ideas that i use to help me make Godly choices. They are:

  1. The whispers of the Holy Spirit in my heart – inner conviction
  2. God’s Word – scriptural confirmation (rhema word)
  3. Prophetic words – What’s God saying prophetically?
  4. Wise counsel – Success is found in an abundance of counsellors
  5. Circumstantial evidence – Circumstances must be considered but not submitted to
  6. God’s peace – Let the peace of God rule in your hearts as an umpire
  7. Provision – What provision has God made for the choice (often requires faith)
  8. Consequences – I evaluate the outcome of a decision as best as i can predict

Getting guidance for your life is easier than what we think, we just need to know the grid through which to work the processing of our decisions through. God wants to guide you but often we don’t want to be guided by the spirit. In my devotions this morning i read these words in Isaiah 30:21 – “And your ears shall hear a word behind you saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it, when you turn to the right or to the left.'”
